Is a system to help teach kids, parents, and mentors how to make better life choices to support physical growth, learning and life success in not only themselves, but their children as well.

What is involved in the 12 week program?

Eating Habits

Your body’s optimal functionality begins through good nutrition. We do not promote calorie restriction; we promote quality over quantity. This involves making the right food choices through following low-glycemic impact eating. You can identify foods that will give you energy, are good for your brain, great for your skin, and help you to maintain a healthy weight. 


We have found that if people understand the what, why and how of a better lifestyle, they are more likely to follow it for life. Helping to develop self-awareness of how their bodies will react and how it will make them feel when they make certain food choices, engaging them in healthy activities and making plans for a future are keys for success.

Created for the 12 week lifestyle class to discuss how the body works, the importance of exercise, the benefits of goal setting, self-esteem issues, peer pressure challenges and more.

Sometimes, having someone who listens and can be a guiding influence, can make all the difference, in keeping your head in the game.

A coach does a number of things and often people believe that success or failure is dependent on the coach. Yes, the coach can have an influence on the outcome of the “game”, but the coach does not play the game. The player must execute and if they do, the coach, player and the whole team looks good.

What Makes the Shape Up Program Unique?

Why are there 2 Shape Up Journals, A & B?

The Shape Up program was designed as a 12-week program. Journal A provides the materials for weeks 1-6, while Journal B provides the same for weeks 7-12.

Why should I use Shape Up instead of another weight loss program?

Shape Up has been designed with kids, for kids. While other weight management programs might include some of the core principles outlined in Shape Up, this program is specifically designed for children between the ages of 10-17.

Is the Shape Up program a diet?

No! A “diet” is a short-term course of action designed specifically to lose weight. It’s a band-aid to the overall problem of being overweight. Shape Up, on the other hand, is designed to teach healthy lifestyle habits so that diets aren’t necessary.

Who should use Shape Up?

Shape Up is designed to address the specific needs and concerns of the 10-17 age range, teaching them how to take charge of their lives and bodies. Shape Up isn’t just for overweight children looking to lose weight. The goals of the program – to build a positive self-image, to strive for and achieve personal goals, to eat a proper, balanced diet – are lessons every child can benefit from learning.

Do I have to buy special meals or supplements to make Shape Up work?

No. However, you do have the option to purchase the appropriate nutritional supplements for your child. The goal of the program is to teach healthy lifestyle habits that are separate from the use of special meals and supplementation. We have found that the TLS entrees and snacks help people through the first few weeks of the program as they are learning what constitutes a healthy lifestyle.*

How do you get families involved in Shape Up?

The Shape Up program includes information exclusively for parents and/or guardians to help them learn ways to encourage and improve their child’s rate of success. One of the goals of Shape Up is to help families learn better, healthier ways to live through proper nutrition and regimented exercise.
